¹Ü¼ÒÆÅÐÄË®ÂÛ̳ is one of the nine ¹Ü¼ÒÆÅÐÄË®ÂÛ̳s that comprise . GW¹Ü¼ÒÆÅÐÄË®ÂÛ̳ and the other ¹Ü¼ÒÆÅÐÄË®ÂÛ̳s are accredited by the Iowa Department of Education (DE), and are required to meet a series of performance standards as part of this accreditation. Funding for the ¹Ü¼ÒÆÅÐÄË®ÂÛ̳s

Unlike local school districts, the ¹Ü¼ÒÆÅÐÄË®ÂÛ̳ system has no taxing authority. The agency is funded by a per-pupil assessment designated by the Legislature, by federal funds, various grants, and sale of services. ¹Ü¼ÒÆÅÐÄË®ÂÛ̳ invests approximately 75 percent of its funding in serving children with disabilities. The remainder of the agency’s budget provides a variety of educational and media/technology services to schools and communities.
